Terms of Service

EarlyGoose checks WordPress file integrity, identifies code and configuration issues, and explains findings for site owners and developers. Free Scan runs on your WordPress server when an administrator starts it. It requires no EarlyGoose account and sends no scan results or source code to EarlyGoose. It contacts WordPress.org for reference checksums and can send a report through your site's mail system when you request one.

Monitoring is a separate paid hosted service. It adds scheduled and event-triggered scans, finding history, email alerts, a dashboard for connected sites, server-side comparisons and AI-assisted analysis. It also offers compatibility analysis of available WordPress core and WordPress.org plugin updates (Update Analyzer), email delivery checks and optional WooCommerce order-status monitoring. Available coverage depends on your site, enabled settings, readable files and reference data.

EarlyGoose does not automatically repair files, install or roll back updates, or remove malware. It changes WordPress automatic-update settings only when an authorized member confirms the change in the app. It is not a comprehensive malware scanner, vulnerability assessment, firewall, backup service or guarantee of security. Some code checks can identify security-relevant patterns, but a clean report does not establish that a site is secure or free of defects.

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract to open a hosted account. The Service is designed for site owners, developers and agencies. You may scan or connect only sites you own or are authorized to manage, and must have the rights needed for the file transfers, analysis, invitations and report sharing you request.

You may use Monitoring to manage client sites within your plan. You are responsible for your client permissions and for giving any required privacy information to people whose data you submit. Nothing in these Terms takes away mandatory consumer rights if you qualify as a consumer under applicable law.

Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in and connection credentials secure. Manage team membership and permissions carefully, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Each team member should use their own login. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account and connected sites.

Connecting a site allows the plugin to send inventory, available updates, file fingerprints, selected source files, findings and enabled monitoring data to EarlyGoose. The plugin also applies automatic-update setting changes that an authorized member confirms in the app. The plugin initiates authenticated exchanges. The app can send an empty wake-up request to prompt a check-in, but does not need remote login or direct database access. The Privacy Policy describes these exchanges.

You and your licensors retain your rights in submitted source code and other content. You give EarlyGoose permission to receive, store, process and analyze that content, use our service providers for those purposes, and deliver results to you and the people you authorize. This permission is limited to operating the Service and the retention described in our Privacy Policy. It does not transfer ownership of your code to us.

The Service uses shared storage for identical files and reuses fingerprints, comparison baselines and cached analysis across sites. It uses Anthropic for AI analysis of selected code and technical context. Submitted files or excerpts may contain confidential or personal information. Check your authority to submit them, including any restrictions in third-party software licenses or client agreements.

Where we process personal data on your behalf, you remain responsible for your lawful instructions and any required data-processing agreement. Contact us to arrange applicable data-processing terms before submitting data that requires such an agreement. Do not intentionally submit payment-card data, sensitive personal records or credentials that are unnecessary for the checks. The Service is not designed as storage for those records.

You may use and share reports for your own sites and authorized client work. Check recipient addresses before sending. We cannot recall copies already delivered to another person.

Plan limits and prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically for the same billing interval until canceled. An annual plan is charged for the full year, even where its price is also shown as a monthly equivalent. The checkout shows the currency, billing interval, amount due and applicable taxes before you confirm the purchase.

Any payment provider involved in your purchase and any additional payment terms will be identified at checkout. For questions about your subscription, payments or invoices, contact EarlyGoose.

Where offered at checkout, a new subscription starts with a 7-day free trial and requires a payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, you are charged the price for your selected billing interval and the subscription continues automatically. Use the trial end date and charge information shown at checkout and in your confirmation email.

Changing plans or billing intervals may result in an immediate prorated charge or credit. Review the plan-change information before confirming. We will give advance notice of subscription price increases, obtain consent where required, and let you cancel before the new price applies.

You can cancel renewal through billing settings in the app or contact us for help. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid its first charge, or before the next renewal to avoid another charge. Keep the cancellation confirmation.

Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with access continuing until then. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not automatically refund a previous payment. Our refund policy below applies separately.

Disconnecting a site, deactivating or uninstalling the plugin, or simply not using EarlyGoose does not cancel your subscription. Account deletion requests immediate cancellation of your recorded subscriptions and proceeds only after cancellation is confirmed. If confirmation fails, your account and sites remain so you can retry or contact us. Completed account deletion ends access immediately and removes the account and its owned site records, subject to the retention explained in our Privacy Policy. It does not automatically refund earlier payments.

When paid access expires, is paused or ends because payment cannot be collected, Monitoring pauses and the plugin returns to Free Scan once it receives the updated status. Existing cloud history is not automatically deleted. Resuming Monitoring can require both an eligible subscription and reconnection from WordPress admin. Payment alone does not reconnect a plugin that has stopped reporting.

If you are unhappy with a EarlyGoose subscription, request a refund within 30 days of the charge and we will authorize a full refund of that charge, no questions asked. This applies to the first payment and to renewal payments, for monthly and annual plans. Using the Service during that period does not remove eligibility.

To request a refund, contact EarlyGoose. Provide your purchase email and transaction or receipt reference so the payment can be located. Do not send card numbers or card security codes. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method where supported. Processing times depend on the payment service and your bank or payment provider.

A refund request and cancellation are separate actions. If you also want to stop future billing, cancel renewal or ask us to help with both, and check the confirmation. Any change to paid access resulting from a refund will be explained when it is processed.

After 30 days, refunds may still be available where required by law. Our 30-day promise is additional to mandatory consumer cancellation, withdrawal and remedy rights. Nothing here limits those rights. There is no physical product to return.

Findings are informational and can include false positives or missed issues. AI output can be inaccurate. A file matching a published release establishes a match, not the quality or safety of the release. Comparisons based on previously observed code have different limits from comparisons against an official source.

Scan coverage depends on supported file types, file sizes, permissions, reference data and enabled checks. Turning off code checks for a plugin reduces that coverage. An email check confirms whether a particular test message reached a monitored inbox. It does not guarantee delivery of other messages or inbox placement. WooCommerce counts indicate possible order-processing problems and do not prove their cause.

Update Analyzer checks PHP changes in supported updates against the active code EarlyGoose collected. A result without issues does not mean an update is safe to install. An update that was skipped, is not supported or is still being analyzed has not been assessed. Updates can also fail for reasons the analysis does not cover, such as database changes, JavaScript or server configuration. Automatic updates, host-managed updaters or other tools can install an update before an analysis finishes or regardless of the settings EarlyGoose changes. If you switch updates to manual, you are responsible for installing them, including security fixes.

Have a qualified person assess findings before changing a production site. Maintain backups and test changes. Scanning uses server resources. Scheduled work, AI analysis and notifications can be delayed by WordPress scheduling, connectivity, maintenance or provider availability. Unless separately agreed in writing, we do not promise a particular scan completion time, response time or service-level guarantee.

• Do not use the hosted Service to access sites or data without authorization, infringe another person’s rights, or violate applicable law.
• Do not attempt to access another customer’s data, bypass account or plan limits, compromise credentials, or disrupt or overload the Service.
• Do not use invitations, reports or other messaging features for spam or unlawful communications.
• Do not sell access to your hosted account or present the hosted Service as your own product without a separate agreement. Authorized agency use for client sites is permitted.

EarlyGoose and its licensors retain rights in the hosted application, website, branding and other proprietary materials. We grant you a non-exclusive right to access the hosted Service for its intended purpose while your account and any required subscription remain eligible. This does not transfer ownership of the hosted software or trademarks.

The WordPress plugin is licensed under GPLv2 or later. You may use, study, modify and redistribute it under that license, including for commercial purposes. Its license governs the plugin's distribution and warranty terms. Neither these Terms nor the end of a Monitoring subscription revoke your GPL rights. Other open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

We may suspend or end hosted access for material or repeated breaches of these Terms, nonpayment, unlawful activity, or a threat to the Service or other people. Where practical, we will explain the issue and give you an opportunity to remedy it. We may act immediately where needed to address a security risk, prevent harm or comply with law.

We may update checks and features as the product develops. If we discontinue a paid service before the end of your paid period for reasons other than your breach, we will give reasonable notice and arrange a refund for the unused prepaid period. This does not limit other refunds or remedies you are entitled to.

Subject to mandatory law, the hosted Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, that every defect will be found, or that the Service will meet every particular requirement. To the extent lawful, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement are excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost revenue or lost business opportunities arising from the hosted Service. Our aggregate liability arising from the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of US$100 and the amounts paid for your EarlyGoose subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits a limitation. Mandatory consumer protections and your refund rights remain unaffected. The plugin's separate GPL warranty and liability provisions continue to apply to the plugin.

These Terms are governed by Ukrainian law, subject to any mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. This does not prevent you from seeking a legal remedy or contacting a regulator. Disputes may be brought before courts that have jurisdiction under applicable law.

We will update the date on this page when these Terms change. Material changes will be communicated to account holders in advance through email or a prominent notice, except where an urgent legal or security reason requires earlier action. The notice will explain when changes take effect. You can cancel renewal before they apply, and we will obtain consent where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision immediately is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
